The Jefferson 500

The Jefferson 500 was established as a celebration of the great long distance races from motorsports past. Summit Point Motorsports Park retains the charm of racing circuits from the 50’s and 60’s, and is the perfect facility to experience what it must have been line to compete back in the day!

Twenty + years ago, Bill Scott and his good friend, Brian Redman wanted to have a first class Vintage racing on the Summit Point™ circuit, so they created the Jefferson 500. Invitations were sent to their friends and others with older historical sports cars and the Jefferson 500 was born.

The Jefferson 500 has grown into one of the largest and most respected vintage races in the northeast. In 2009, Bill Scott and the Vintage Racers Group partnered to bring the Jefferson 500 back to Summit Point™ Motorsports Park. This annual event brings over 200 cars a year to Summit Point, WV for three days of racing including a test day and a driver’s school.
